 Wow, it's hard to believe but it's time to start planning the theme for Lakeside 2010.  Last year's theme was: H2O Hope 2 Overcome, Hearts to Overflowing

 What should our theme be for this summer?

I know the staff is REALLY STOKED about it!  The theme is H2O.  Hope 2 Overcome, Hearts 2 Overcoming.  Get ready for a wet week!  We're talking water.  Water games.  Pirate dance.  Luau.  Under the Sea theme for Wo Ho Mis!

We are all getting ourselves packed.  Getting our totes packed for small group.  There are some big changes in staff this year!  Some regulars have had to step out this year but don't let that stop you!  We have some WONDERFUL replacements for them!  There have some fabulous newbies!  We can't wait to see what they have in store!

 We already have 84 campers registered!!!  Let's see what we can do to get that number to 100!!!  Bring a friend.  There are still plenty of people who have nothing to do next week!

About three months ago, the band leader at our church left for a better job.  We hired him in July right around camp time to lead the worship band at church, but he got a better offer in December at another church.  As a result, we needed a band leader to run the band until we could hire someone new.  So in January, I started as the interim band leader.  I have really enjoyed doing this for the past 3 months.  The music has been awesome and God has been working through the band to inspire me as well as create inspiring music for the congregation.  The really good news has been that God has brought us a new band director who is just what we need.  We have several guitar players and our new leader is a keyboard player.  He is going to be awesome!

Midwinter was a success!  We had campers in and out all weekend long!  Friday we had opening worship then we got to meet our small groups.  Followed by snack time, naturally, and some games.  

 Saturday we worshipped in the morning.  Had some small group time and went to Fun 'n Stuff.  We had a ball there, playing lazer tag, roller skating, playing video games, and much much more!  Rachel Landin's Mom, Kathy, made some fabulous meals for us!  We had a traveling worship service lead by Ruth Roth.  That was amazing!  We got to dump all the stuff on our plates into a trash can!  What a relief!  After sharing communion, we went a little wild and had a couple of mean rounds of capture the flag!  We had a gutter full of ice cream!  Yeah, I said a GUTTER!!!  We all layed around the gutter on the floor where there...
